Singapore's most exclusive and influential Big Data & AI conference is coming back, so take your place alongside more than 100 AI scientists, Machine Learning leaders, data innovators and strategists who are redesigning the future of information technology.

Confirmed Speakers include:

The summit will gather the most influential, knowledgeable and innovative AI and ML leaders across the globe. We’ve hand-picked our speakers for their expertise, experience and influence in data science and engineering, machine learning, AI technology and strategy, and most importantly the “special something”: a unique human touch, a truly individual mind, or the courage to take their organisation through hell and back – and win. We’ve found that this kind of person gives the best to our clients, and gets the best from them.

We co-develop the Summit Agenda with our data and AI Leaders group so you can expect a variety of activities, sessions and networking opportunities that will really maximise what you gain.

In addition to the main session, this year we will specially organise a side track led by true AI and Machine Intelligence scientists for a genuinely deep and technical sharing. Speakers we have confirmed now including scientists from the "AI'10 to Watch' for 2018.

We have just released the initial agenda, please check back regularly for updates and the addition of new speakers and topics to the line-up!

In January 2017 CMU’s Libratus system beat a team of four top-10 headsup no-limit specialist professionals, which was the first time an AI had beaten top human players in this game. Libratus’s success is purely based on algorithms for solving large scale games and has nothing to do with deep learning! Over the last few years, algorithms for solving large scale games have also been applied to scheduling security resources in many significant domains including airports, federal air marshals service, coast guard, and wildlife conservation organizations. This talk will discuss key game theoretic techniques behind these success and their potential applications in other domains including sustainability.

  • 16:00 – 16:30

by Assistant Professor, Nanyang Technological University

With the recent developments of deep learning, AI research has gained new vigor and prominence. However, machine learning still faces three big challenges: (1) it requires a lot of training data and is domain-dependent; (2) different types of training or parameter tweaking leads to inconsistent results; (3) the use of black-box algorithms makes the reasoning process uninterpretable. At SenticNet, we address such issues in the context of NLP via sentic computing, a multidisciplinary approach that aims to bridge the gap between statistical NLP and the many other disciplines necessary for understanding human language such as linguistics, commonsense reasoning, and affective computing. Sentic computing is both top-down and bottom-up: top-down because it leverages symbolic models such as semantic networks and conceptual dependency representations to encode meaning; bottom-up because it uses subsymbolic methods such as deep neural networks and multiple kernel learning to infer syntactic patterns from data.

  • 16:30 – 17:00

by Assistant Professor, Nanyang Technological University

Recently, supervised-learning algorithms such as deep learning have made a great impact on our society However, it has limitations like relying heavily on the size and quality of the annotated training data and being domain specific.

Jialin's long-term research goal is to develop transfer-learning techniques to build learning systems that can adapt to new and related domains with little or no human supervision.

Given the huge volumes of data available (both structured and un-structured) for American Express Card Members, American Express has adopted Machine Learning in all its CORE business processes of Credit and Fraud Risk Management, Marketing Analytics and Operation. Work entailed building in-house data warehouses with right level of privacy controls and then using state of art machine learning algorithms from Open Sources to solve unique business problems across the various businesses. Adoption of Machine Learning has ensured building of Robust Economic Models leveraging the best possible information delivering the highest predictive power. Also the models are updated with the highest frequency ensuring the models incorporate the most fresh information. This has led to significant improvement in the controls for Fraud Risk and also improved the Targeting of the Appropriate segments with far higher accuracy in Marketing.

As a part of the presentation, I will take through 3-4 actual use cases of CORE American Express processes and how Machine Learning is completely changed the game.

Discussion will also include what are the new areas where the company is thinking of doing research and bringing the best value for its Card Members.
