Thomas has a background in creative technology, research, and art, and his work spans across different practices and interests, including Interaction Design + HCI, Artificial Intelligence, and Virtual Reality.
He specialises in idea-driven technology, with a keen interest in early prototyping and thinking-by-making. Integrating user-centred design, the hybrid background allows him to fluidly move between deep technical level and high-level concepts and objectives.
His artistic production includes installations, interactive art, music, live cinema, and digital lutherie. As a researcher, he has published more than 36 papers in journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings, including CHI, NIME, ISEA, Technoetic Arts, and Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts.
Thomas is a frequently invited speaker, having given more than 50 invited talks in Argentina, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, Uruguay, and the US.
