An award-winning marketeer and business leader, Kartik is a veteran of billion-dollar brands like Lux & Smile. He is currently the Global Brand Director of Unilever’s biggest oral-care brand Smile (Pepsodent, Signal, P/S) and a member of its leadership team. A seasoned global leader with multi-market experience, he has lived in India, Singapore, Bangkok and UK over the last two decades, and has led marketing for Asian, African, European & American markets. He has a trove of international expertise in creating products, experiences and content that delight consumers and make their lives a little better.
A business-turnaround specialist, Kartik has led Lux’s striking revival in India taking it to leadership position in its ninety year history, led strategic realignment and growth-rebound of Lux globally, and led an ambitious step-up of growth for Smile globally. He has been the recipient of multiple awards including POPAI Global, Spikes Asia, Mumbrella Asia and Marketing PR awards.
With a strong belief in the power of brands to do good and in the power of data in helping brands to do so, these days Kartik is experimenting with ideas on how data can help brands serve people and planet better.
An idea fanatic, Kartik has an innate sense of curiosity about the world, especially of everything visual, and an impatience to share it with others. This passion spills over to his love for visual capture in landscape photography. When not found hunting latest ideas, stories or visuals, he can be found chasing sunsets in the nature. A happy introvert by self-admission, he is always open to exciting one-on-one idea exchanges over a cup of coffee!
