Jason’s 30 years in the architectural business has seen him work for leading design practices specialising in transportation. He has 25 years’ experience in Asia leading rail as well as commercial, hotel, and mixed-use projects. Jason is renowned in the field of transit oriented development (TOD) and is responsible for projects across Asia and Australia. he is currently working in the field of Human Centred Design (HCD) - employing Pedestrian Modelling to analyse and fine tune the 3D planning of TOD - which in itself is a very contemporary consideration of many transport operators.
Artificial Intelligence and Human-Centred Design
by Jason Hutchings, Senior Design Director, SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins
As the TOD model expands across the Asia Pacific Region, with particular focus on the use of analytical methodologies to predict how pedestrians flow between public transport and retail environments, an integrated and technology driven approach enables SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins to focus on customer experience, the impact of in-station planning of ‘invisible’ fare collection, and the need to future-proof our transit hubs against social change.
This presentation will focus on AI and human-centred design tools in the context of public transport. Combining architectural, planning and engineering design, and further advanced by the application of digital technology, Jason will discuss how the interaction of people with the infrastructure will be changed.
