Eli Cohen is a Deputy General Counsel at Block.one. He brings more than 25 years of experience specializing in regulatory and licensing in banking and financial services across Asia, Europe and the United States.
Prior to Block.one, he was the General Counsel-Asia at CME Group where he headed the legal team supporting CME's exchanges, clearing house and data repositories, and worked with key regulators in Asia Pacific. Before CME, Eli led the legal team at the Singapore Exchange and managed overseas regulator relationships including the European Securities and Markets Authority, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong.
Eli’s previous roles include acting as the Asia General Counsel for Euroclear Bank in Hong Kong where he advised on legal issues relating to the international settlement platform and the Asian Development Bank for the ASEAN+3 Asian Bond Market Initiative Group of Experts.
Eli is a graduate of the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
